Noriko is 27 years old and still living with her widowed father. Everybody tries to talk her into marrying, but Noriko wants to stay taking care of her father.
Noriko, jeune fille ayant pratiquement passé l’âge « normal » de se marier, vit seule avec son père à Kamakura. Parfaitement heureuse avec lui, elle refuse tous les prétendants. Son père, aidée par la tante de Noriko, recourt alors à un stratagème afin de la forcer à accepter : lui faire croire qu’il a l’intention de se remarier.
