An Invisible Sign Görünmez kaydol 2010 DVDRip XviD Drama
Cuter than a basket of puppies licking a litter of kittens, “An Invisible Sign” is an excruciatingly whimsical collision of adult themes and kid-friendly aesthetic. The film’s flinching heroine is Mona (Jessica Alba), an obsessive-compulsive 20-something with the fashion preferences of a 12-year-old. Mona cares about only two things: numbers and her father (John Shea), a brilliant mathematician whose brain is slowly losing its grip on reality. Devastated by Daddy’s decline, Mona moons around the house until her weary mother (poor Sonia Braga) throws her out. “She’ll never find an apartment with a toilet as strong as ours!” whines her father, his male grasp of priorities still fully functional. What Mona finds is a job teaching math to defenseless 8-year-olds.
IMDB
An Invisible Sign is an unusual and bewitching coming-of-age story about a young lonely woman (Mona Gray) who became to work as a math teacher in the elementary school. The lead heroine had lost the joy of life in childhood when he father became ill. When Mona grew up, she begins to live in her own world in loneliness. She absolutely isn't adapted to adult life, but once she's forced to change her life. This film shows Mona's evolution from an unsociable loner to a mature woman. Her fears, doubts and desires are very realistic. Mona is very plausible and interesting character.
The main idea of this movie is that it's useless to abstract from the reality. People should take everything that happens with them, good or bad. Also, An Invisible Sign has an idea of growing up. Sooner or later, everybody should grow up.
Actually, I very liked this movie, despite it has some plot holes and a short runtime. An Invisible Sign is a heartwarming story which also magnificently shot (something like Amélie). Jessica Alba gives a very strong performance, actually the best in her career. This film is a good chance to her career changing because 75% of her previous movies is a waste of time.
Of course it's not a masterpiece, but if you like good indie movies, I think, you will like An Invisible Sign.
