Whilst Sinbad (Kerwin Mathews) is on his way to Baghdad, transporting the Princess Parisa (Kathryn Grant), who is to become his bride and secure peace between her kingdom and his, the ship encounters the isle of Colossa. Sinbad and his men are attacked by a gigantic, bestial one-eyed Cyclops, and are saved only when the mysterious magician Sokurah (Torin Thatcher) appears and uses a magic lamp to protect Sinbad's men. But in the process of escaping harm, Sokurah loses the lamp to the Cyclops. He desperately wants to retrieve it and tries to persuade Sinbad to put about and return to Colossa -- but the captain won't jeopardize the safety of the princess or the success of his mission, and the Caliph of Baghdad (Alec Mango) feels the same way, even after Sokurah amazes the court by conjuring up a snake-woman. It is only when the princess is shrunk by an evil spell, the breaking of which requires the shell from the egg of the giant Roc -- which resides on Colossa -- that Sokurah can get his expedition mounted, with Sinbad in command. With a crew made up of a handful of his bravest men and some of the most desperate convicts in the Caliph's prison, he has to contend with potential mutiny at every turn, and the men are driven almost to madness before they even reach Colossa. Once there, they find terrors as great as the Cyclops and the treachery of the magician, but Parisa -- in her tiny state -- also discovers the beautiful world inside the lamp, and the lonely boy genie (Richard Eyer) who inhabits it. They strike the bargain that, when Sinbad's bravery is added to the equation, will bring their quest to an end. If, that is, they can all survive the dangers that Sokurah puts in their path.

This merry farce depicts a satirical view of the French society: Twelve years old Zazie has to stay two days with her relatives in Paris, so that her mother can spend some time with her lover. However Zazie escapes her uncle's custody and sets out to explore Paris on her own.

Zazie, une petite fille de 9? ans aux manieres delurees, arrive de sa province, impatiente de connaitre le metro parisien. Son oncle Gabriel l'attend a la gare et, a la grande deception de Zazie, lui annonce que le metro est ferme pour cause de greve et la jette directement dans un taxi conduit par son ami Charles : direction le cafe Turandot, au-dessus duquel il vit. La, Zazie fait la connaissance de Marceline, la femme de Gabriel, et de divers personnages du cafe : Turandot, le tenancier, Mado P'tits-Pieds, la serveuse... Le lendemain, Zazie s'enfuit avec l'intention de decouvrir le metro et decouvre le marche aux puces, en compagnie d'un etrange personnage qui la ramene chez Gabriel, qui se fait tour a tour passer pour un commercant et pour un policier, et qui change de nom au fil de l'histoire (Trouscaillon, Aroun Arachide, etc.). Gabriel emmene ensuite Zazie decouvrir la tour Eiffel. Aux pieds de celle-ci, Gabriel est embarque par un groupe de touristes etrangers qui le prennent pour un guide. Zazie, accompagnee de Trouscaillon et d'une femme rencontree par hasard (la veuve Mouaque), finit par retrouver son oncle. Ce dernier invite alors le groupe de touristes puis l'ensemble de ses amis a assister au numero de « danseuse » dans le cabaret homosexuel pour lequel il travaille. Entre-temps, Charles declare sa flamme a Mado, puis Trouscaillon essaie de violer Marceline, qui s'enfuit. Durant la nuit qui suit le spectacle de Gabriel, les personnages finissent par devoiler l'identite multiple et ambigue de Trouscaillon et s'en vont manger dans un bar, que des forces armees, dirigees par Trouscaillon (alors nomme Aroun Arachide), encerclent. Outre la veuve Mouaque qui meurt sous les balles, les personnages s'enfuient par les souterrains puis par les conduits du metro grace a Marceline (devenue Marcel), alors que Zazie s'est endormie dans les bras de Gabriel. Au petit matin, Zazie est rendue a sa mere et elle reprend le train sans avoir vu les couloirs du metro.

Sağlık Bakanlığı ile Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu(SGK)’nun anlaşması sonucu yapay kalp paralarının devlet tarafından ödenmesi ölümü bekleyen binlerce hasta için umut oldu. Akdeniz Üniversitesi (AÜ) Hastanesi’nde sadece üç haftada 8 hastaya yapay kalp nakledildi. AÜ Kalp ve Damar Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Ömer Beyazıd, “Atık ölüm, kalp yetmezliği hastalarının kaderi olmaktan çıktı.” dedi.

Başarılı uzuv ve organ nakilleriyle adını duyuran AÜ Hastanesi şimdi de son dönem kalp yetmezliği hastaları için umut haline geldi. Nakil yapan merkezlere yapay kalp için de izin verilmesi üzerine Türkiye’nin birçok yerinden hasta AÜ’yü tercih etmeye başladı. AÜ Rektörü Prof. Dr. İsrafil Kurtcephe, hastanelerinin yaptığı özel işlerle hem Türkiye hem dünyada marka haline geldiğini söyledi. İlk böbrek naklinin yapıldığı 1983’ten bu yana geçen 30 yıllık sürede büyük tecrübe ve deneyim edinen hastanelerinin yüz ve çift kol nakli gibi büyük başarılara imza attığını ifade etti. Kurtcephe, şimdi de son dönem kalp yetmezliği hastaları için umut olduklarını söyledi. Kurtcephe, şöyle konuştu: “Son yapılan kalp nakillerinde Türkiye’nin en başarılı grafiğini çizen hastane haline geldik. AÜ, kalp hastalarına yeni umut oldu. Daha önce kalp hastaları verici çıkana kadar ölümle yüz yüze yaşıyordu. Şimdi o hastalar SGK’nın yeni uygulamasıyla yapay kalp cihazıyla bir şansa kavuştu. Artık onlar ölümle yüz yüze olmaktan çıkıp bu yapay cihazla nakile kadar yaşama şansı yakaladı.”

AÜ Kalp ve Damar Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Ömer Beyazıd ise AÜ Kalp Damar Cerrahisi Servisinde son üç haftada 8 hastaya üçüncü kuşak suni kalp cihazı takıldığını söyledi. Suni kalp cihazı takılan toplam hasta sayısının 12’ye çıktığı bilgisini veren Beyazıd, “Türkiye’nin farklı bölgelerindeki illerden gelen son dönem kalp yetmezliğindeki bu hastalara yoğun bakımda verilen tedaviye rağmen durumlarının düzelmemesi üzerine bu cihazı yerleştirdik. Bu tür cihazlar, kalp nakli hastalarını hayatta tutmak için kullanıldığı gibi kalıcı tedavi olarak da kullanılmaktadır. Kalbin tepe kısmına yerleştirilen 140 gram ağırlığındaki cihaz dakikada 7 litre kanı vücuda pompalıyor. Bir yıl sonra hastaların hayatta kalma oranı yüzde 90’nın üzerinde. Büyük kısmı bekleme listesinde hayatını kaybediyordu. Hastaların hayat kalitesi de oldukça iyi.” şeklinde konuştu.

Yoğun bakımda tedaviye rağmen düzelmeyen bu hastaların yapay kalp naklinin ardından işlerine ve ailelerine dönebildiklerini, aktif ve sağlıklı hayat yaşmaya başladıklarını anlatan Beyazıd, bu hastaların sadece 1,5 kg ağırlığında bel çantası taşımak zorunda olduklarını kaydetti.

Türkiye’de 800 bin kalp yetmezliği hastası bulunduğunu, bunların 3 bininin son dönem hastası olduğunu dile getiren Beyazıd, “Geçen yıl Sağlık Bakanlığı’nın bekleme listesinde kalp bekleyen hasta sayısı 500’dü. Sadece 96 nakil gerçekleştirildi. Yüzde 40’ı bir yıl içinde hayatını kaybetmekte. SGK ve Sağlık Bakanlığı’nın yeni düzenlemesi sayesinde bu hastalara suni kalp cihazı takmak mümkün olmakta. Normal yaşama dönebilmekteler.” ifadesini kullandı. Geçen yıla kadar hastanelerinde 51 kalp nakli yaptıkları bilgisini veren Beyazıd, bu hastalardan birçoğunun normal hayatlarına döndüğünü, ancak hala nakil bekleyen 48 hastaları olduğunu belirtti.

Türk Lirası uluslararası ödemelerde en çok kullanılan 18. para birimi oldu.
İmzalanan ikili anlaşmalarla dış ticarette kullanımı artan Türk lirasının (TL) uluslararası ödemelerdeki payı hızla büyüyor.
Uluslararası havalelerde bankalar arasındaki mesajlaşmayı sağlayan Belçika merkezli Dünya Bankalararası Mali Telekomunikasyon Toplumu'nun (SWIFT) verilerine göre TL, uluslararası ödemelerde en çok kullanılan 20 para birimi arasında bulunuyor.
SWIFT, bu yılın ilk ayında uluslararası ödemelerde yüzde 0,29 payla 19. sırada bulunan TL'nin payının şubatta yüzde 0,32'ye ve mart itibariyle yüzde 0,35'e çıktığı bildirdi.
TL bu dönemde Meksika pezosunu geride bırakarak uluslararası havalelerde 18. sıraya yükseldi.
TL'nin uluslararası ödemelerdeki payı 2012 başında yüzde 0,27 düzeyindeydi.
